SMART Watering Systems purchases 100,000 litres worth of water sustainability credits that will provide potable water for water stressed areas of Sudan…On behalf of their clients Bentall LP, Oxford Properties, Brookfield Residential Services Ltd., 20 Vic and The Erin Mills Development Corporation, SWS has purchased materials for the construction of 5 sand based water filters that will help reduce illness from waterborne bacteria and provide 100, 000 litres of clean, safe potable water for water stressed communities in Sudan. These filters will provide drinking water for the community and result in a decrease of Green House gas emissions by 15 tonnes by eliminating the deforestation normally required to boil

“I was trying to get contractors to go out and sell innovative water conservation technologies, because I identified a need for them” he said. “Unfortunately, these products still weren’t getting into the market because people didn’t understand complex irrigation systems that did things like communicate with weather stations to adjust water use”.
